Nickelodeon  Christmas Card

We all know nickelodeon is a fun, kid-friendly, and altogether very bright cheerful, and virtuous brand so in order to fully establish this idea I went through about 3-4 different concepts before finalizing what I had below. The hardest part of this process was keeping the consistency of the “theme” and balancing “playful” with “business”.

The fonts used in this project for the wording were:

I choose Abril font because it really struck with the theme of “holiday”. In general serif fonts are great headliners for holiday type designs because we naturally see them everywhere (when its holiday season).

It’s a reminist feeling of the past, it says “home” , “classic”, “warm”.

Dekko is the font I used for the writing inside. It’s a handwritten and playful font and It matched well with the overall theme I was going for.

Being easy to read and not to strainful for your eyes it fit right in.

You may not notice it but Berkshire was used for one and only one part of the inside text. The “H” of “health”. It’s not supposed to stand out so, Im not offended don’t worry. I added that to simply “cap” the first letter and start the rest of the paragraph, it makes it a little more adventurous to start reading.

Aclonia was used for the Marketing Team. It wasn’t to harsh and because it was a different environment than the front I decided to go with a different font. I originally tried using Abril for their names but it was a bit too much.

I went through (truthfully) 5 different poses for the deer in the center of the frame but ultimately the card was saying “happy holidays” to “you” so I thought it was appropriate to face it forward to establish that. The swashes along the edges helped create the sense of flow from the wording to the design aspect of the card and although the “happy” is small, because it is contained in the center of the designs “gravity” it’s noticeable.

While the deer stood out I didn’t want it to take to much away from the main point, which was ” happy holidays”, so it faintly sits behind a simple but effect circle and outline in a silhouette.

These are the elements that were used within the design
